Environment Minister Says Clare CoCo Should be Ready to Apply for Housing Funding

The MidWest branch of a charity which helps the homeless in Ireland says it's important the government's new social housing strategy does not focus solely on Dublin.

The coalition's 3.8 billion euro plan, unveiled yesterday, will see 35,000 properties built or renovated nationwide and the coalition say it will clear housing waiting lists by 2020.

There are 3,150 people in Clare waiting for a home, including 1,200 in Ennis, while on this program, the Environment Minister has insisted his office will support applications from Clare County Council.
