Environment Minister Insists Moneypoint’s Offshore Wind Project Will Be Undertaken By Other Developer And Delivered On Time

The Environment Minister insists Moneypoint’s offshore wind project will be undertaken by another developer and that the project will be delivered on time.

Norwegian company Equinor, who had been in partnership with the ESB to deliver the two billion euro deal by 2030, pulled out of the Irish market last November due to planning concerns.

It’s been estimated that one and a half million homes could be powered by the West Clare plant if the project proceeds, with the plant set to cease coal burning by 2025.
