The Enterprise Minister says he expects hospitality businesses in Clare to be paying a 9% VAT rate after Budget 2026.
Fine Gael’s Peter Burke who heads up the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment is visiting Clare today to attend a special meeting of the Ennis Chamber of Commerce.

Minister Burke had fought to include the 9% hospitality VAT rate in Budget 2025, but was ultimately unsuccesful.
However he’s told Clare FM’s Morning Focus that introducing the measure is vital for the future success of this county.
