A state agency spent over 4,000 euro flying Clare’s Junior Minister from America to a family event in Spain last year.
The Sunday Times reports that Fine Gael’s Pat Breen was due to attend a trade mission in the US last year, but also a family event in the South of Spain at the same time.
To facilitate this, Enterprise Ireland paid 4,398 euro on flights for Junior Minister Breen to bring him from Minneapolis to Malaga, including a business class flight to Paris.
His Department has said that he agreed to lengthen his stay in the US on the understanding he could fly directly from the US to Spain.
