An Ennistymon student says she is delighted following her success at the BT Young Scientist competiton over the weekend.
Scoil Mhuire student Alanna Hayes won first prize in the individual, Chemical, Physical and Mathematical Sciences category for her project which focused on microchip production.
The achievement is being described as ‘a fitting way to bow out’ for the school as the sixty-five year old instituition is set to amalgamate with CBS Ennistymon and Ennistymon Vocational school next year.
Alanna says she is thrilled to have won the award and she will be looking forward to continuing her studies at third level.
