An Ennistymon business-owner is seeking clarity after plans aimed at dealing with a notorious traffic blackspot in the village were rejected by Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
The national authority has described the proposal, which aims to divert traffic away from Blake's Corner, as an "interim solution".
Clare County Council now has to go back to the drawing board.

Local Councillor Bill Slattery has expressed disappointment at the decision and says a permanent solution must be found.
The project steering committee will now meet in an effort to progress the project.

But a local businesswoman has called for clarity from the local authority about the TII's decision.
Sheena Clancy's business was one of a number of buildings due to be demolished to make way for the new bridge and she says she's none the wiser about whether that threat remains.
