Avolon is one of the world's largest aircraft leasing companies, and last December it launched on the New York Stock Exchange.

It has customers in 27 countries as well as offices in China, Dubai, Singapore and the US.

In a statement, Domhnall Slattery says the deal reflects the attractiveness of his company.

Avolon's chairman Denis Nayden, meanwhile, says the investment enhances Avolon's profile in China, and that this is one of the most compelling growth opportunities for them over the next two decades.
