Ennis Traveller Campaigner Calls On Schools To Ensure Education System Is ‘Safe’ For Minority Children

A prominent Ennis campaigner for the Travelling community is calling on schools to ensure education facilities remain safe places for children in ethnic minority groups.

It comes as a report commissioned by the State has found Traveller children feel ‘unwanted’ in the education system.

The Out of the Shadows report states that members of the Travelling Community spoke of instances of name-calling, exclusion and of being ignored by teachers.
