An Ennis Solicitor believes the removal of the ward of court system from Irish law will afford a new lease of independence to impaired individuals.
It comes as new legislation came into effect earlier this week which will allow vulnerable people to have a greater say in affairs relating to their health & finances.

The Assisted Decision-Making Capacity Act replaces the Lunacy Regulation Act of 1871 and the associated Wards of Court system.
