An Ennis retail couple says anti social behaviour, parking charges and lower ability to spend money from tourists have led to the closure of their shop.
David and Eileen Woodford have closed the Irishshop.com, formerly The Record Rack, at Lower Market Street in Ennis after 3 decades of business.
David and Eileen Woodford first opened the Record Rack in 1982 at Lower Market Street in Ennis.
In 2010 they rebranded the music shop and became Irishshop.com catering for the tourist market selling postcards and gifts.
The couple say the relaunch was in a bid to recover after the recession.
However David says while tourist numbers to Ennis and Clare have increase in his experience they don't have money to spend when they do visit.
The couple say after struggling for a number of years the decision to close down was relatively easy to reach and was made overnight.
Eileen says having run a small business in Ennis for three decades there are some problems she feels need to be addressed in the town.
David and Eileen say they won't be leaving Ennis and are now looking for work.
