An Ennis-based psychotherapist believes many people will find it difficult to readjust to normality once the pandemic is over.

It comes amid calls in political circles for counsellors to be appointed to hospitals nationwide over fears a mental health crisis is looming.

New figures from the Irish Medical Journal suggest attendances to pediatric hospital emergency departments by children seeking acute mental health care soared in the second half of last year.
