Ennis Psychotherapist Believes People Using Gambling As Pandemic ‘Crutch’

An Ennis psycho-therapist, believes there’s been an increase in the number of people turning to gambling, as a ‘crutch’ to deal with effects of the pandemic.

It comes as a new report shows, Irish people are the fourth biggest gamblers in the EU, having lost about 1.36 billion euro last year.

President Michael D Higgins, has been leading calls for the greater regulation of online gambling in the last number of weeks.

Ennis-based psycho-therapist, and counsellor, Grace Harrison, believes increased stress in people, is leading to a greater likelihood of addictions developing.
