The Principal of Gaelscoil Mhíchíl Cíosóg is hopeful that works on a significant expansion at the school can begin by the end of next year.
Clare County Council has given the green light for the two-storey extension to proceed, which will include the first Early Intervention Units in a mainstream school in the county town.

The school will also benefit from seven new classrooms, a general purpose halla, two ball courts and additional staff parking.
Principal Donal Ó’hAiniféin has been telling Clare FM’s Rebecca O’Sullivan that the quality of learning will improve greatly for the students as a result.
