The Parish Priest of Ennis has said he believes addiction is at the root of issues related to anti-social behaviour in the town.
Fr. Tom Ryan has spoken of how he effectively banned a small number of people, who aren’t originally from Ireland, from Ennis Cathedral after complaints of drinking, smoking and other forms of anti-social behaviour in the building itself.
Issues such as public drinking on the town’s streets have been a point of concern in Ennis recently, and Fr. Ryan believes this had always been happening, but was somewhat hidden when this happened in the Cathedral.
