An Ennis Paddy Power shop will be one of more than 20 bookie shops closing their doors around the country.
The bookmaking giant, which is owned by Flutter Entertainment, has announced that while the majority of its branches continue perform well, it’s been forced to close 21 of its “underperforming” shops, which includes shops in Ennis, Galway, Clonmel, Cork and Kilkenny.
It’s been confirmed the 78 affected workers will be offered redeployment opportunities across its remaining shops and in close proximity to their existing job losses.
However, the company has said that some permanent job losses are inevitable.
After the closures, Paddy Power will operate a total of 230 shops nationwide.
