Ennis National School to move to construction

Construction of the long awaited redevelopment of Ennis National School will finally get underway in the New Year

The project, located on a greenfield site near Ashline on the Kilrush Road has been given the green light to proceed to the building phase.

Work is expected to begin in March and its hoped that the 700 hundred pupil school will be able to move into the new premises within 18 months of this.

It follows over a decade of campaigning by parents and staff for new facilities due to the overcrowded conditions at the current school.
