Ennis has been named as one of the cleanest towns in the country.
The county town has scored one of its best results in the latest IBAL Litter League.
Clare FM’s Fiona McGarry reports:
The latest Irish Businesses Against Litter survey ranks the county town as tied for the sixth tidiest in the country – and it’s cleaner than European norms.
O’Connell Street, Lower Drumbiggle Road and the Ennis Town Council Riverside Walk were highlighted as particularly clean though dumping on wasteground near the Kilrush Road Roundabout saw Ennis docked marks.
The study also looked at 32 tourist sites throughout Ireland, among them the Cliffs of Moher, which was found to be clean.
Natinoally, overall results marked the best nationally in 16 years.
Tullamore in Co. Offaly topped the rankings while the Galvone area of Limerick City was the only area in the country found to be seriously littered.
