An Ennis man charged in connection to suspected dissident republican activity is due back in court later this week.
At the Special Criminal Court on Saturday, 64 year old Desmond Brennan with an address at Clonroad in Ennis was charged with possession of explosive substances following a series of raids by Gardaí across several counties on Friday.
He was one of four people charged before the courts on similar charges, four more – one of whom was being held at Ennis Garda Station – have been released without charge and files are being prepared for the DPP.
Mr Brennan is due back before the courts on Thursday
