The local authority’s report on the control of litter in the town shows it issued sixty €150 fines under the Litter Pollution Act of 1997.
14 were paid, and 15 cases have been referred to a solicitor.
The report, which comes following a year in which the county town was again successful in Tidy Towns Awards, also shows the Council issued 9 Public Health Notices and removed 5 abandoned vehicles.
