Officials from a host of Irish towns are gathering in Ennis today as they look to follow in the footsteps of Clare’s County Town.

Representatives have travelled to Clare from a host of areas including Cashel, Carlow, Galway and Westport, as they seek to learn more about applying for the Purple Flag.
Ennis became the first Irish town to be awarded the honour, which is an endorsement of the town’s night-life.
The award is more popular in Britain, where Purple Flag creator Paul Davies says many do take notice of it.
