Ennis headshop closed down

An Ennis businessman has succeeded in his bid to permanently close down one of two head shops operating in Clare’s County Town.

At Ennis Circuit Court yesterday retired solicitor Desmond Houlihan claimed he was tricked into leasing out the premises at 9A chapel lane after the tenant told him the4 shop would sell charity goods to support Nepalese Orphans.

Mr Houlihan had already been granted a temporary injunction to have The Laughing Buddha Headshop closed at the end of last month.

Yesterday council for Mr Houlihan told the court that the matter has now been resolved and the existing orders are to remain in place and that after his client had  threatened legal proceedings, the tenant Conor Doyle told the letting agents on February 15th that he would vacate the premises and seek an alternative premises in Ennis.
