An Ennis GP wants the re-introduction of face masks in crowded settings such as retail and public transport.
More than 1,300 patients are in hospital with COVID-19 currently, including 89 at University Hospital Limerick.
It’s understood a significant portion of those in hospital have been admitted for issues other than COVID, with the government saying there are no plans to reintroduce restrictions.
