Ennis Gardaí are investigating the discovery of a man’s body on the outskirts of town opposite Saint Flannan’s College.
Its believed the man- understood to be in his early 20’s may have been the victim of a hit and run.
The alarm was raised shortly after 10 o’clock last night after the man’s remains were discovered off the Limerick Road in Ennis at Toberteascain.
Gardaí immediately sealed off the area and the office of the state pathologist was notified.
Its believed the victim – in his early twenties may have been struck by a vehicle which then failed to stop.
His body remains at the scene this morning while a forensic examination takes place.
A section of the road at Toberteascain -from Saint Flannan’s Round about down to Ryan’s Centre has been closed off to traffic – with local access only – However the main Limerick Road is open.
