Ennis Flood Relief Project Delayed Due To Tenders Exceeding Budget

Long-awaited flood relief measures for Ennis have been delayed because tenders for the project exceeded the budget.

The OPW allocated 4.71 million euro for the Ennis South Flood Relief Scheme, which would carry out flood protection in areas such as Clonroadmore, Ballybeg and Clareabbey.

The area has been heavily affected by flooding in recent years, in particular in 2009 where heavy rain caused severe flooding at St Flannan’s College.
