Business people in Ennis say they’re hopeful that measures to attract more coaches into Clare’s County Town can boost the local economy.
Ennis Town Council has unveiled five additional coach parking spaces at Friars Walk in the town, in the first part of a tourism strategy to attract new coach visitor business.
The local authority is also investigating a number of other capital projects, including the development of a dedicated bus park equipped with maintenance facilities for tour operators.
It’s estimated that a coach of visitors can spend up to 3,000 euro on a visit to a town – Brian O’Neill, President of Ennis Chamber of Commerce, says a concerted effort can make a big difference to traders locally
