Councillors in Ennis have called for a greater use of ASBOs in the town.

While statistics show Clare’s crime rates have been relatively low in recent years, local representatives have expressed concern about repeat offenders and have called for Anti-Social Behaviour Orders to be used more frequently in Ennis as part of a trial scheme.
It’s proposed that the program would be extended elsewhere if proved successful after a six-month trial period. The matter will now be discussed by the town’s Joint Policing Committee.
