Ennis Councillor Renews Calls For Vacant Housing To Be Brought Back On Stream Faster

An Ennis Councillor is calling for the local authority to attempt to lessen the amount of time social homes in this county remain vacant.

There are now 81 vacant local authority homes in Clare, with the Council saying it’s ‘acutely aware’ of unoccupied properties in areas where there’s a significant housing need.

Around 3,000 households are now estimated to be on Clare County Council’s waiting list for social housing.

Fianna Fail Councillor Pat Daly wants works on vacant properties to be completed quicker.
