Ennis chamber concerned over Government plans to reform sick pay

Ennis Chamber of Commerce claims businesses in the town will be forced to close if the government presses ahead with plans to reform the payment of sick pay.

The State currently pays the cost of sick leave for workers absent for more than three days, but Social Protection Minister Joan Burton is now seeking to have this extended to a month.
