A cave diving hero from Ennis, who played a vital role in rescuing a trapped football team and their coach from a cave in Thailand, is to be given an award for his bravery.
Belgian native Jim Warny, who has lived in Clare for the past 15 years, was one of a number of international experts called in from around the world in the operation.

All 12 boys and their coach were successfully removed from the cave after around two weeks underground.
The Schoolboys Football Association of Ireland will honour Jim with a presentation on Wednesday and its Clare delegate Tommy Molloy says it’s important to mark the achievement:
