An Ennis business owner is appealing to customers not to tap their cards when making small transactions.

It follows reports of businesses facing bills of thousands of euro annually from banks to pay for their service of customers tapping.

The service increased dramatically during the COVID-19 pandemic, when tap limits were increased to 50 euro.
