Two Ennis brothers facing charges arising from the death of a Polish man in Ennis this week have been further remanded in custody.
Michael Maughan of 20, Stone Court, Ennis is charged with the murder of Piotr Nowakowski , while his 21 year old brother Darren Maughan was also back in court today on a charge of assaulting another man at the same address.
A 31 year old Polish National, Mr Nowakowski had been living in Shannon for a number of years and recently had been staying in Ennis.
He lost his life following an alleged stabbing incident at 15 Sandfield Mews – close to Ennis General Hospital.
Michael Maughan was back before the District Court today where Judge Patrick Durcan further remanded him in custody.
Also back before the court was Michael Maughan’s 21 year old brother Darren, also of 20 Stone Court, Ennis who’s charged with assaulting another man, Declan O’Dea in the same incident at Sandfield Mews.
Judge Patrick Durcan ordered that the Maughan brothers be further remanded in custody today – they’re due back in court again on Monday.
