Ennis To Become University Town From October 1st

Ennis will officially become a university town from October 1st.

It’s been confirmed that in just over four months, LIT will cease to exist, with the Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest coming into effect.

More than 15,000 students and 1,200 staff will teach, learn and research at the newly designated university, while the four towns of Ennis, Thurles, Clonmel and Athlone, where there are TÚS campusses will become university towns.
