The Ennis-based president of the Tesla Owners of Ireland group says a new Government plan on electric vehicles is a positive move.
The strategy being unveiled today is understood to include plans to install high-powered chargers every 60 kilometres on the motorway network.
Charging points are also being earmarked for sportsgrounds and shopping centres, with 100 million euro to be spent on the new infrastructure over the next three years.
