Ennis-Based Haulier Says Industry Needs Incentive From Government To Cover Cost Of Going Green

The Ennis-based President of Irish Road Haulage Association is calling on the government to provide incentives to fund the costly transition to more environmentally-friendly vehicles.

The Government has unveiled a 125 billion euro Climate Action Plan which aims to halve the country’s emissions by 2030.

It includes a target to reduce transport emissions by 42-50% by the end of the decade, to reduce the number of car journeys by 500,000 every day and to have one million electric vehicles on the road.
