Ennis-Based Gaza Resident Calls For Immediate Halt To War On Humanity

A resident of Gaza, who moved to Clare just weeks before fighting broke out in the enclave, is calling on the international community to end the horrors facing his people.

Husam Malaka says his wife and child are barely surviving, after fleeing to the city of Khan Yunis, where they spent over a month trapped in a building with limited access to humanitarian aid.

On November 7th, meanwhile, Husam says his father passed away, shortly after the hospital in which he was undergoing cancer treatment suffered extensive damage in an airstrike, rendering services unavailable.

The truce in Gaza is to be extended for a seventh day, with Israel and Hamas both releasing statements earlier this morning, just minutes before the pause in fighting was due to expire, and hostage negotiations are now continuing.

Speaking at a solidarity vigil for the Palestinian people in Ennis last night, Husam Malaka says the people of Gaza are facing a war on humanity.
