Ennis Based Driving Instructor Says Test Delays Are Impacting Livelihoods

An Ennis based driving instructor is calling for a speedy resolution to a conflict of interest arising between the driving testers trade union and the Road Safety Authority.

It comes as driver testers trade union Fórsa instructed its members on Monday not to conduct driving tests in vehicles without a National Car Test Certificate.

The Road Safety Authority temporarily lifted the requirement for learner driver’s test vehicles to have a valid NCT test in an effort to clear driving test backlogs arising from the Covid-19 Pandemic.
