Axa Insurance looks set to close its office in Ennis.
The Irish Examiner reports that the company is closing 18 branches in the Repubilc of Ireland, and cites Ennis as one of those which is facing closure.
Axa has cited a move by customers towards more phone and online transactions as the reasons for the move.

Staff will be fully briefed on plans today and the company says its overall employee number “will not be impacted significantly” although the Examiner reports that at least 100 workers throughout Ireland will lose their positions.
