Ennis Anti-Racism Protest Is Postponed

Saturday’s planned Black Lives Matter demonstration in Ennis has been postponed.

The event had been due to take place at The Height, and had been called following the killing of George Floyd by police officers in Minneapolis, an incident that has provoked outrage throughout the U.S.

Organisers of the Ennis event say their decision comes after they received ‘new information and clearer guidance’ on their rights to protest during the pandemic.

Organisers of the event say they are in contact with Gardaí, the Council and the HSE, and that they hope to protest safely on the nearest possible date.
