Ennis and Ballyvaughan short-listed for new tourism award

Ennis could be in line for another major accolade, just weeks after scooping the award for the Tidiest Large Urban Centre in the National Tidy Town Competition.

Clare’s County Town along with Ballyvaughan have been short-listed for the inaugural Tourism Town Award.

A total of ten areas around the country have made the cut in the competition which has been developed by Tidy Towns and Fáilte Ireland to promote the towns and villages that endeavour in efforts to draw in visitor numbers.

Competition judges will arrive in the county today with judging taking place tomorrow Friday

The ultimate winner will be announced in November
