Striking paramedics in Ennis say their next two planned strike days can be called off, if the HSE engages in meaningful discussions with them.
Around 500 National Ambulance Service Representative Association workers are calling on the HSE to recognise the PNA as their union of choice, which NASRA is affiliated with.
The HSE, meanwhile, says it already recognises a number of unions, and that recognising any more would not be good for industrial relations.
Today’s strike continues until 5 o’clock this evening, though full cover is being provided by ambulance staff regardless.
Two more strike days are planned for February 28th and March 1st but Ennis paramedic Jess Parsons has been telling Clare FM’s James Mulhall this can be avoided, if the HSE engages with them:
