An Ennis-based addiction counsellor doesn’t feel the introduction of a regulator for the gambling industry will make ‘observable change’ in the medium term.
New betting legislation approved by Government will see gambling advertisements banned between 5.30am and 9pm across all media.

People will no longer be able to bet with credit cards, with the regulator due to begin work in 2023.
However, Bushy Park addiction counsellor Maurice Crowe believes changes in attitude towards the sector will be slow.
