The Chief Operating Officer of Ennis 2040 claims new developments in the heart of the town centre will be essential to ensure the county continues to move forward.
The proposed Abbey Street Redevelopment would see the existing car park replaced by a large retail and office unit, which is expected to generate 100 permanent jobs and significantly increase local footfall.
The proposal has met fierce opposition from local traders who believe a reduction in available parking spaces would be detrimental to businesses in the area.
However Ennis 2040, COO Kevin Corrigan believes the initiative will be a gamechanger for commercial activity.
