A Clare government Senator insists taxes shouldn’t be raised in order to pay for free public transport.

Fianna Fail Senator Timmy Dooley has called for public buses, trains and trams to be free for the next five years, as well as for larger fleets and more routes to come on stream across Clare and elsewhere.

The proposal is in response to a number of recent reports which suggest climate change is an immediate threat, with rising rain and temperature levels already taking place here.
