Carbon Taxes ‘Must Not Amount To Fundraiser’

A Clare member of the Green Party says it’s crucial that Ireland’s carbon taxes don’t amount to a fundraising exercise.

It comes as a new report by the ESRI looking at the impact of increasing carbon tax has suggested a congestion charge model could help reduce carbon emissions.

A similar system is in place in London but the report also found that those in poverty spend more of their income on energy than richer households.
