Calls For Planning For Opportunities Arising From Moneypoint Investment To Begin Right Away

There are calls for the government to start planning now for the enhanced regional development that Moneypoint’s new offshore wind facility could bring to West Clare.

A 5 billion euro ESB project, expected to be in production by 2030, will see an offshore wind farm on the West Clare coast capable of powering 1.6 million homes in operation.

The utility says the scale of the investment will have a positive impact on the region’s economy, with opportunities for former or current staff at the plant to re-skill and participate in the project beyond its construction phase.
