The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office indicate that emigration is continuing to rise.
In the first four months of the year alone, 40-thousand Irish people left the country for Britain, Canada, New Zealand, the US and Australia – an increase of 13-thousand on last year.

It comes as earlier this week a new survey revealed that two-thirds of college students admitted they plan on emigrating once they’ve finished their studies.
