Emergency services remain at the scene of a significant fire at a business premises in Lisdoonvarna.
The blaze broke out at the Burren Smokehouse shortly before nine o'clock this morning.
The alarm was raised shortly before quarter to nine this morning after a fire broke out at the Burren Smokehouse in Lisdoonvarna.
Five units of the Clare County Fire Service from Ennis and Ennistymon were called to the scene including four pumps and one hydraulic platform.
The fire has since been brought under control but fire crews will remain at the scene for a number of hours until it's completely quenched.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer Cormac Falvey has been telling us what happened.
Earlier reports suggested a number of staff members were on the premises when the fire broke out but Assistant Chief Fire Officer Falvey says that's not the case.
A small section of the N67 between the Wild Honey Inn and the Square in Lisdoonvarna has been closed to facilitate the operation and diversions are in place.
