Rail services have been suspended between Ennis and Colbert Station in Limerick and emergency road closures are in affect after a truck struck a railway bridge in East Clare.
The incident happened at Poulawilly Bridge, the middle of three railway bridges on the R462, Sixmilebridge to Cratloe Road, around noon today.

It’s understood damaged was caused to the bridge, resulting in rail services being temporarily halted.
Irish Rail says Bus transfers will operate between Limerick and Ennis until further notice.
Meanwhile a temporary road closure is in place on approach to the bridge between O’Gorman’s cross to Craughaun Cemtery in Cratloe.
