An emergency road closure is in effect in West Clare.
In order to facilitate urgent resurfacing works on the Doonbeg-Kilrush Road, the L2034 between its junctions at Carrowmore, Doonbeg and at Einagh near Kilkee will be closed until 6pm on Friday.

Local diversions will be in place for the duration of the works.
Traffic travelling north will be diverted via Shragh and Mountrivers, southbound traffic will re-directed via Doonmore, Bealaha and Tullaher, while Heavy Goods Vehicles will be sent on to the N67 at Kilkee.
