An emergency road closure is in effect on a busy route in a West Clare town this week.
Clare County Council has confirmed that the R487 which runs along the seafront is closed to allow for emergency drainage works.

The closure is in place between the junction with the L2009-0 at Marine Parade and the junction with the L2021-0.
Local diversions are in place, and motorists are advised to use the L2009-7 Circular Road and the L20150 Chapel Street.
Works are taking place each day this week from 9am to 5pm with the operation set to conclude this Friday September 12th.
